Wetten, dass..? vom 5. November
I started juggling around 1990 but never practiced much and never
learned much more than the standard 3 balls pattern. Now I'm back for more,
first goal is 5 balls (yeah I'll do 4 afterwards, I just don't like the even numbers).
Daily Highlights
- June 13, 2011
- Finally 100! Something from 101 to 118 actually, not sure exactly because I was shocked and now I can't remember :)
- December 13, 2010
- 88 or 90 catches, not sure. Really need to start filming...
- December 1, 2010
- 85 catches, woohoo. Been practicing a bit again recently. This came out of nowhere, my record the last few days was 51 or so. Gotta start recording myself now, want to get my first 100 on video.
- September 9, 2006
- 77 once and half a dozen more in the 70s. Suddenly the movement or my hands/arms is much more circular, I'm more relaxed and the accuracy of throws and catches improved. Might have to do with counting only every third catch instead of every second, seems to balance left-right better.
- September 8, 2006
- First I got three 56s and thought "please not again", then I ended with a 65.
- September 7, 2006
- 52 three times (this is getting annoying), a 51 and a 50.
- September 6, 2006
- 52 twice again.
- September 5, 2006
- 52 catches twice and some more 40s. Didn't practice much recently, too much rain. Got 44 catches a few days ago.
- August 11, 2006
- Made another video (378 KB). Only 24 catches, so just three more than last video, but no drops and better video quality.
- August 10, 2006
- 43 throws/catches.
- July 28, 2006
- 38 catches. Should've been 40 but the last two balls dropped from my hands. But several 30+ catches today, it's becoming easier.
- July 28, 2006
- 37 throws/catches.
- July 27, 2006
- It rained. Park is wet. No training today. Made indoor video (433 KB).
- July 26, 2006
- Ten times in a row 9 throws/catches with 5 balls. And once 33 catches (and 33 throws, so not dropping the last few like I often do when trying to go as long as possible).
- July 21, 2006
- Eight times in a row 9 catches with 5 balls. And maybe a dozen catches Mills Mess, though I'm not 100% sure I'm doing it right. For sure it looks ugly.
- July 20, 2006
- Longest session so far. About 3 hours but including short breaks talking with Jan, another juggler. Showed me Mills Mess, now I can do every two of the three balls but not all together yet. Also did 5 balls of course, ten times in a row 7 catches was easier today.
- July 19, 2006
- Ten times in a row 7 catches with 5 balls, and quite well done.
- July 18, 2006
- Ten times in a row 6 catches with 5 balls. Twice, once with right hand starting, once with left hand.
- July 17, 2006
- 23 minutes with 3 balls, ended not because of a mistake but intentionally because of boredom.
- July 15, 2006
- Not much exciting since the last entry. Today I started with a 14 minutes run with 3 balls (i.e. about 2800 throws/catches without mistake) and ended with a 12 minutes run. Also got 14 consecutive 5 ball flashes as well as 16 catches with 5 balls thrice (long session today, around 100 minutes).
- July 5, 2006
- Didn't train yesterday, let my muscles rest a bit. Was stricter today and didn't get 10 consecutive 5 ball flashes. Ended with 10 consecutive 4 ball flashes (5 ball pattern). Today's 80 minutes was too long, I'll try 30 and every day from now on.
- July 3, 2006
- Again ended with 10 consecutive 5 ball flashes. Wasn't easier than yesterday but I think I "understand" it better now. And getting there was a lot easier (I require myself to first go through 10 consecutive 4 ball flashes (in the 5 ball pattern) and then again with holding the fifth ball in the hand).
- July 2, 2006
- Ended with 10 consecutive 5 ball flashes. Made my first juggling video (156 KB). Ok, only a flash. Created this juggling section on my website.
- June, 2006
- Came across Chris Bliss's video on YouTube. Fortunately also came across Jason Garfield's answer. Was more impressed by Jason. Watched a lot more of Jason and others. Particularly liked Jason's "career timeline" and videos of Thomas Dietz and Vova and Olga Galchenko. Decided I'm sick of the standard 3 balls pattern. Bought Jason's book/dvd and some good beanbags. Began practice with them. Thanks to summer and the nearby park.
