Puzzle Shops

I've seen some cool puzzle shops around the world and had the idea to collect information about them and others. If you have information about cool puzzle shops (or maybe other cool puzzle places, e.g. museums?) please tell me!

In the beginning I had two or three stores in mind that are really superb. Then some people told me about other stores but most of them weren't as good as the best. So I split the stores into several types and later removed the stores that only had the basic Rubik puzzles because they have become more common and because the web is now the best place to get most puzzles anyway.

Superb: These are the ultimate real life puzzle stores.
Online: Let's face it, online shops are available to more people.
Nice: Not really great but better than the basic toy store with only a few basic Rubik puzzles.

	Wonderful little store, they have lots of nice (including twisty) puzzles, games and books (some out of print). Don't miss it when you're in London! Thanks to Jaap Scherphuis for telling me about it (it's one of his favourites and now also one of mine). I think it's the one I've been to about 15 years ago, they have been there for like 20 years. Jaap says "On the first Wednesday of every month they hold puzzle evenings in the bar above their shop. I went there last month and it was great fun.". I also saw a newspaper article about this, David Singmaster has been there, too.

	Haven't been there myself, but heard this from Etak (thanks!): "Specializes in mind games, brain teasers and puzzles. They have Rubik's cubes in 3x3x3, 4x4x4, and 5x5x5. Along with Rubik's cubes, I saw other games of the same sort. They had a variety of brain teaser puzzles. They had wooden ones I think, and also the metal ones where you have to get a ring off of a strange metal shape. (I don't know what they are called). There was also chess sets, books of puzzles and riddles, and pen and paper role playing games.". Also mentioned here, with second location!

	Their online shop looks very promising (has some nice non-standard twisty puzzles). Haven't been there myself, though, I got the picture from the owner (thanks!).

eBay (website)	Everywhere
	Not a puzzle shop, of course, but you can also find lots of puzzles here, including rare or old ones. Search for "rubik" and also have a look at national ebay sites, not only ebay.com (or use the advanced search to search worldwide).
Rubik's (website)	Canada
	The standard Rubik's puzzles and accessoires and good prices. Unfortunately they apparently chose the worst international shipping method known to man, as what they offer is extremely slow and expensive. Makes me think they just don't want to send outside of North America.
Puzzle Shop (website)	Germany
	In Germany. Sells lots of puzzles, has a nice online puzzle museum, shows wonderful special puzzles made by Jürgen Brandt.
Cubikon (website)	Germany
	In Germany. Apart from cubes of several sizes, has some nice specialties (e.g. quadriple 2x2, rainbow cube). Also sells at eBay, worth a look.
Puzzles Downunder (website)	Australia
	In Australia. Besides Rubik puzzles they have some nice specialties, e.g. the Chromosix Ball. Click on 'Brain Teaser Puzzles', then on 'Rubik's Style Puzzles'.
Puzzle Me This (website)	USA
	Many puzzles of different sources, e.g. K-Ball, CrossTeaser, BackSpin, TwinSpin. Click on 'Manipulative & 3-D' under 'Puzzles'. They also have a real world shop, look above on this page.
De Kubuswinkel (website)	Netherlands
	Some Rubik and Eastsheen cubes and some other puzzles and thinking games.

	Some Mefferts and Rubiks puzzles, other puzzles and games (and juggling and Magic cards?). I got a Megaminx for 8 pounds here! Too bad they only had one left. Haven't talked much with them but they seem to be cool people judging by the reviews they got (see link). Update: According to a reviewer, it was unfortunately closed.
